Huge pop star and Celebrity Big Brother favourite marries partner after 38 years together
POP legend Leo Sayer has married his long time partner Donatella Piccinetti in an intimate home ceremony.
The couple, who have been together for nearly four decades, invited their closest friends to their garden in Australia to share in the celebration.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Leo wrote: "This past weekend was truly a dream…
“After being partners for almost 39 years, Donatella Piccinetti and Leo Sayer got married in their garden in the Southern Highlands on Saturday 15th of April. It was a very private ceremony where the couple were joined by 40 of their closest friends. There was a reception lunch held afterwards at the famous Magpie Restaurant in Berrima.
"The weather was sunny, the bride was radiant, the groom looked handsome and they couldn’t be happier with how the day went.”
Marie Claire Australia founder Janice Frank shared a picture of the happy couple on her Instagram grid with Leo beaming from ear to ear and Janice looking radiant in a white wedding dress.
Thunder in My Heart hitmaker Leo, 74, was previously married to Janice Lisseter, whom he divorced in 1985.
The 70s icon, who has won a Grammy and topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic, made a career misstep in 2007 when he tried to reinvigorate his career with a stint in the Celebrity Big Brother House.
The series was embroiled in a racism storm over the treatment of Indian actress Shilpa Shetty by her fellow housemates Jade Goody, Jo O’Meara and Danielle Lloyd resulting in nearly 50,000 complaints to Ofcom.
Leo, who clashed with show security as he made an impromptu exit, told the Scottish Sun last year: “I broke out of there because it was a horrible experience and I still don’t know why I ever agreed to do it.
