I am not sure about anyone else .......but people seems to rave about how great california is ......homelessness .....droughts ....fires.....floods.....expensive housing .....earthquakes .........can anyone explain to me what the big attraction to such a shit hole state is .......we know its democratic run ....but the homelessness is abhorrent .....even people who are working are homeless ........yet movie stars have multi million dollar homes .....the price of property ....just like london is not for the average commoner ........i don't get the big attraction .....not too mention the free ways .........the crime .......apparently californians spend a shit load of time trapped in congested freeways ........due to the over population ......its getting like that here in south florida .....i hope it does not happen ....but it seems like the degenerates are flocking here .....i have not been to california ....i always wanted to go to see beverly hills and shit .....but its not worth the money or the hassle .......but i guess if you are stinking filthy rich ....then california is a great place to live ......

Statewide heat wave puts strain on California's power grid
Californians are being asked to conserve energy as a statewide heat wave strains the state's electrical power grid. The California Independent System Operator, which monitors the state’s electricity needs and power grid capabilities, issued a statewide Flex Alert, asking consumers to conserve electricity Sunday through Wednesday especially between the hours of 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. The ISO announced “record-breaking heat is straining supplies; consumers should plan for potential outages.” Get the full story in the video above.

Extreme heat hits California, spurring rolling power outages
For the first time since 2011, California ordered rolling power outages on Friday night. Officials warned there may be additional blackouts to come over the weekend. The California Independent System Operator (California ISO) declared a Stage 3 electrical emergency on Friday, ordering utilities to take measures to lighten the power load and initiating rotating outages throughout the state.
By 10 p.m., the power outages were lifted. But more are expected Saturday, CBS Los Angeles reports.
The ongoing heat spell – sending temperatures soaring into the triple digits – is raising concerns about crowds flocking to the beach amid the coronavirus pandemic. Officials are encouraging the public to find a safe location to beat the heat and to check on elderly neighbors who may be more susceptible to heat-related illnesses. "Over the past decade, the heat wave in California have caused more human harm than those things put together," said Daniel Swain, a UCLA scientist, of earthquakes and wildfires. "Heat waves and heat extremes are sort of an underestimated killer." The hot spell is expected to last through next week.
