Police identify armed carjacker shot and killed in the Miami River
An attempt to serve a warrant for a bank robbery ended in a fatal shooting in the Miami River Friday morning, after the armed suspect led police on a two-hour chase involving two carjackings before jumping in the water and refusing to surrender to police, authorities said. The man, Ernesto Padron, 52, died at the scene. No police officers were injured in the shooting.
