Inside world of ‘rape academies’ where men share vile videos and tips on sedating women as UK cops arrest 8 Brits
THE videos of unconscious women being raped are vile enough but the horror doesn’t end there.
Underneath the images and clips of sexual assault and violence, men swap tips on how to drug and rape their partners including details of where to get medication and how to mix cocktails of drugs.
But their sick days are numbered.
The National Crime Agency – the UK’s version of the FIB – this week arrested eight Brits after busting a “truly international network” of 270 men using just one forum and linked websites.
Campaigners say the arrests are just the tip of the iceberg.
Zoe Watts, whose husband is serving 11 years for raping and drugging her, told The Sun: “This is just the beginning. It feels like this is the start of society coming to terms with the fact such things actually happen.
“It’s a very Hollywood type crime which people believe only happens in films but it’s happening to real women.
“I’ve seen these forums and they are horrendous. These men are sharing information on how to successfully sedate women.
“In their minds they are doing it ‘safely’, They are in it for the long game, giving each other advice to work out dosages as they go. It’s a matter of seeing what they can get away with and working their way up. It’s sick.”
The depraved abuse came under the global spotlight following the case of French woman Gisele Pelicot, who was systematically sedated and attacked by her husband and dozens of other strangers he recruited online.
How to report a sexual assault
- Contact a doctor or practice nurse at your GP surgery.
- Contact a voluntary organisation, such as Rape Crisis, Women’s Aid, Victim Support, The Survivors Trust or Male Survivors Partnership.
- Call the 24-hour freephone National Domestic Abuse Helpline, run by Refuge, on 0808 2000 247.
- Speak to the rape and sexual abuse support line run by Rape Crisis England and Wales – you can call the helpline on 0808 500 2222 or use the online chat (both are free and are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year).
The 73-year-old waived her right to anonymity to talk about her ordeal while her ex husband Dominique Pelicot was jailed for 20 years.
In May, charity workers told The Sun how drug-induced rape is becoming “widespread”.
Statistics show five per cent of Britain’s 2.2million adult rape victims – around 110,000 – believe they were sedated in some way before being attacked.
One twisted website had 62million views in February alone and another of the so-called ‘Rape Academies’ shared tips on getting hold of ‘sleeeping liquids’ shipped anywhere in the world for £130.
The NCA says it has identified 270 forum users since October 2025, which has resulted in 14 worldwide investigations. Eight victims have been contacted.
The Agency says it has sent evidence to law enforcement agencies overseas and investigators from Brazil, Canada, France, Hungary, the Netherlands, Spain and America met in London last week to share information on suspected offenders, victims and online groups.
The meet-up led to four new online communities being uncovered.
Siobhan Blake, the Crown Prosecution Service lead for rape and serious sexual offences, said the offences were “some of the most horrifying I have seen in my career.”
She said: “Victims are being subject to horrendous sexual offending in their own homes in an ultimate breach of trust.”
Zoe, 43, of Devon, only found out what her husband was doing when he confessed one day after church.
He put his hand on her knee and told her: “I’ve been putting sleeping tablets in your tea, then having sex with you while you were unconscious.”
He convinced her he was mentally ill and she spent months helping him until it dawned on her that she was the victim of rape.
She and a second victim Amanda Stanhope have launched a campaign called EndEyeCheck.
It’s name refers to an act in which men drug and abuse unconscious women and pull back the eyelid of their victim to prove they are incapacitated.
Amanda, 52, of Wigan, who was on prescription drugs which knocked her out at night, claims she could have been raped 1,000 times by ex-partner David Rogerson while she slept.
Zoe said the pair have had hundreds of calls from other victims, including women in their 70s who have been subjected to the abuse for decades.
Zoe said: “I can’t express how many women have told me, ‘it happened to me’.
“It’s going to take society a long time to catch up with what’s been going on for years and years.
“It’s the ultimate control over women. A lot of females this is happening to are very strong and very capable women and it speaks to the offenders inadequacies as to why they are doing this.
“I don’t think they wake up one day and think, I’m going to start drugging my partner tonight. I think it’s a slow process. They might go on and off one of these awful platforms, telling themselves they are just there to have a look, then it builds up.
Spot the signs
Campaigners have drawn up a checklist for women who may suspect they are being sexually assaulted or raped while drugged.
The #EndEyeCheck initiative says symptoms are often misdiagnosed as stress, tiredness or the meopause.
It advises women to see their GP if they suffer confused, slurred speech, lack of coordination, feeling sick, blurred vision, unusually deep sleep, loss of bowel or urinary control, memory loss, urinary infections, thrush, headache and loss of appetite.
“Once they see others are doing this, it’s almost like they have an excuse to do it too and they rationalise it as totally normal behaviour.
“There’s no shame in it for them either. My ex husband’s response was that I should have been grateful because it meant he was looking at me and nobody else.
“He certainly didn’t run away in shame. These men are standing indignant in their decision to drug and rape women.”
A CNN investigation earlier this year revealed messages between the men which included talk of a ‘party’
Nigel Leary, the NCA’s deputy director, said incapacitated rape was no longer isolated behaviour but “increasingly organised”.
He said: “Intelligence indicates there have been, and are other groups, many as yet unidentified by law enforcement, still involved in this type of offending.
He said that cases were “almost certainly under-detected and under-reported” and that online platforms were enabling the behaviour.
He said: “We’ve seen users actively engaging with other like-minded individuals discussing in graphic detail how they want to drug their victims to commit the most heinous sexual abuse.
“Discussions include inviting other people to take part in the sexual assaults, seeking advice on the best drugs or sedatives to use and how to administer them, asking for specific abuse to be conducted and filmed, and also coordinating offending, arranging to rape and abuse victims, sharing methodologies and developing tactics to avoid detection.”
