Brit recruitment consultant, 22, left to rot in Dubai hell hole prison over drugs charge FINALLY flies home

A YOUNG British woman has finally flown home almost a year being banged up in a disgusting Dubai prison for alleged drug charges.
Leeds-born Isabella Daggett, 22, was arrested last year, just five weeks after she moved to the Gulf state to start a new job as a recruitment consultant.
A year after she was thrown in a hell hole prison she was finally allowed to fly home on Friday after her charges were dropped in January.
But, Isabella has been ordered by authorities to pay a fine of around £3,000 for overstaying her visa while she was incarcerated.
Despite her family claiming she did nothing wrong and has never used narcotics, she was arrested by Dubai police in March last year.
The family also detailed the horrifying conditions of the prison and the way she was treated, claiming she had not showered or changed her clothes in months.
A family friend told the Daily Mail: “Everyone thought she would be straight on a plane home as soon as the charges were dropped in January, because that should have been the end of it.
“But then came this £3,000 visa overstay fine, which absolutely stunk.
“It felt like one last kick in the teeth after everything she’d already been through.”
It all happened when Isabella was offered to work in Dubai a couple of months before she packed her bags last year.
The Briton was working for a businessman, doing internet recruiting for construction sites in the UK, who offered to send her to the Middle East for a similar role.
Just weeks after touching down in the desert city she was arrested alongside a man she had been staying with at the time.
The exact charges she was arrested for are currently unknown but The United Arab Emirates is notorious for its extremely strict drug laws.
Even possession of a tiny amount for personal use can land a sentence of up to four years.
Isabella’s mum Lucinda Smith, 46, with whom she ran a Leeds-based modelling agency, raised almost £1,500 through a GoFundMe page to help her daughter.
The fundraiser read: “My daughter Isabella has been wrongfully detained in Dubai, and we are doing everything we can to prove her innocence and bring her back home.
“We have proof she was not involved in these charges and are determined to fight for her freedom. The hideous conditions she is living in are enough to break any mother’s heart.
“The legal and travel expenses are overwhelming, and we need your support. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us cover the costs of legal fees, travel, and other necessary expenses.”
The 22-year-old’s family had warned her about the dangers of the Middle Eastern city with tough prison laws.
