American Pickers' Mike Wolfe Announces End of an Era in Bold Career Move That Leaves Fans Reeling
American Pickers star Mike Wolfe announced the end of an era in a bold career move that left fans reeling.
On April 18, the History Channel star took to Instagram to share that his Antique Archaeology store in Nashville, Tenn., will be permanently closing.
"After nearly 15 amazing years, we’ve made the tough decision to close the doors of our Antique Archaeology store here in Music City," Wolfe, 60, revealed.
"This place has meant the world to me — not just the brick and mortar, but the people. The community," he added. "The visitors from all over the world who came through those doors, shared their stories, and reminded me every day why I started this journey in the first place."
Wolfe explained that he plans on focusing on family, "slowing down a little, staying rooted, and focusing on the new projects that are pulling at my soul."
However, he clarified that he's "not disappearing — not even close."
"I’ll still be picking, sharing, and selling online and at our original LeClaire, Iowa store," the history fanatic continued. "But I’ve learned over the years that it’s easy to spread yourself too thin, and balance is something we all chase in one way or another."
The final day the Nashville Antique Archaeology store will be open is Sunday, April 27. Wolfe also noted that he will be there on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"This isn’t goodbye — it’s just a new rhythm," the American Pickers star concluded. "ll forever be grateful for every moment in that Nashville space, and for all of you who made it more than just a shop. You made it home."
In the comments, fans expressed their sadness but understanding over Wolfe's career move.
One person wrote, "Congratulations, Mike. I can't imagine the depths of emotion you're all experiencing, AND I am thrilled watching you light up with every step in this new direction. ✨️ Here's to making new magic!"
Another shared, "Shoot! Thats my fav place always stocked with amazing items not to mention where my friends are! Going to miss your Nashville store so much Mike! 🥹."

His girlfriend, Leticia Cline, also shared her support writing, "15 years is a long run, especially in Nashville and not many people can say that they’ve had that. I’m so proud of you for creating this space and I’m even more proud of you for prioritizing your life, making this decision even though you didn’t have to. ❤️."
In recent months, Wolfe has announced several major career shifts—including a new History Channel show, a new film role and filming for Season 27 of American Pickers.
