Sacha Baron Cohen & Isla Fisher’s Breakup Reportedly Started With This Family-Oriented Blowout
One of the most private and unexpected couples in Hollywood for years was Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher. The pair was together for decades, and new fans were always shocked when they discovered they were together. While they were quite private, they seemed happy, but after their shocking split announcement in April 2024, insiders are spilling the deets.
While many believed Rebel Wilson’s allegations from her new memoir had something to do with Fisher and Cohen’s split, their split happened in 2023; and it allegedly had something to do with their conflicting family plans.

Insiders recently told UsWeekly that the pair were “at odds” with one another, fighting mainly about their schedules and family commitments. While both of them have had packed schedules for years, the insiders insinuated that the childcare responsibilities may not have been equal.
An eye-witness even added that they saw Cohen and Fisher in a “heated argument,” and “furiously argued” over filming schedules, tours, and still trying to balance their home life with their three children. So it seems their schedules may have been difficult for them, and with trying to take care of their three children, it seemingly hit a breaking point.
Per IMDb, Fisher has three projects in production, and in 2023, she was a part of the film Strays and the show Wolf Like Me. And per Cohen’s IMDb, he’s working on at least three projects in production. So, they are quite busy.
Now, why did they wait so long to tell the world about their split? UsWeekly said earlier this week that “They have been living separate lives since last year but wanted to give this space and time for their children to be OK with this before the news came out and they got all this attention.”
For those who don’t know, Fisher and Cohen met back in 2001, and they started dating soon after. They got engaged in 2004, and married in 2010. They share three children named Olive, 17, Elula, 13, and son Montgomery, 9.
After over 20 years together and nearly 14 years of marriage, they called it quits, and annoucned the decision months after the fact on Instagram.
“After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down,” Fisher wrote on Instagram Stories alongside a picture of them. “In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage.”
She added, “We have always prioritized our privacy and have been quietly working through this change. We forever share in our devotion and love for our children We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
