SI Swim Model Myla Dalbesio Took Our Breath Away During Her Photoshoot in Aruba
SI Swimsuit model Myla Dalbesio appeared in four consecutive magazine issues, from her gorgeous beach debut with Ben Watts in Curaçao in 2017, to her most recent Western-themed feature with Ruven Afanador in Wyoming in 2020. Her rookie appearance was accompanied by a powerful essay about modern feminism and how posing for the franchise was a “liberating” experience.
In 2018, she double dipped for a photoshoot in Aruba and a powerful in-studio project titled “In Her Own Words” with photographer Taylor Ballantyne. The following year, the 36-year-old traveled to Kangaroo Island, Australia to model for Josie Clough.
"There have been so many [favorite SI Swimsuit moments]! The Maldives, Kangaroo Island, Seychelles, South Africa, Morocco. I could go on and on,” Dalbesio told the magazine of having a tough time choosing a favorite location. “I love to travel and see new places, so when a job takes me somewhere I’ve never been before, I’m so grateful. It’s extra special when it’s a place with a totally different culture and lifestyle. I like to step outside my box when I travel and expand my worldview. To be able to do it on a job is a huge bonus."
Dalbesio, who is married to Nathan Hageman, moved to New York City at the age of 18 to pursue modeling. Today she is a photographer, model and creative director, as well as the co-owner of the One & Only restaurant in Madison, Wis.
Below are five of our favorite photos from Dalbesio’s 2018 photoshoot with Yu Tsai in Aruba.
Now through Nov. 1, 100% of SI Swimsuit’s portion of proceeds from cover prints purchased here will be donated to the Maui Strong Fund, which is helping to support the people and places of Maui affected by the recent wildfires.
