Starbucks has become the next battleground in the fight over transgender individuals.

The coffee chain has fired a transgender employee in Britain after a shouting match about gender developed with a customer.

The argument Sunday, April 30 went viral on social media. The employee in Southampton called the customer a “Karen” for saying something “transphobic” to the employee.

“You're rude. Don’t ever call me transphobic! Ever! You do not know me!” the customer said in the video posted by The Blaze.

“You are transphobic. Now get out!" the staff member said. That employee declared the customer was trespassing.

The video goes on to show the unidentified employee pushing someone else who recorded the argument.

“The Starbucks manager grabbed me and threw me out of the cafĂ©,” customer Vanessa Thomas, 55, later told the Daily Mail.

Southampton Police say they are investigating.

A spokesperson for Starbucks said it does not own the shop where the incident occurred. But Britain's Telegraph reports the company has apologizes to Thomas.

“Starbucks has no tolerance for behavior of this kind and we are very sorry for the experience that this customer had," the spokesperson said.
