the First SpaceX Passenger Is A Billionaire Looking For Love
When Elon Musk announced that visitors to the moon would soon expand to finally include people who weren't trained astronauts through his project SpaceX, he didn't exactly mean people like us.
In order to be one of the chosen few, you need to be able to afford your ticket – for just a nominal fee of millions of dollars.
Among many celebrities and influencers who signed up as soon as the pin dropped was one billionaire named Yusaku Maezawa, who was just announced as the first passenger of the SpaceX moon mission – and who has offered a place in space alongside him.
The price of this generous ticket? Just one lifetime of love and devotion.
A lot of women reading this headline might immediately say, “Where do I sign up?” But a lot of others might ask themselves, "Wait a second – why is he having so much trouble finding love in the first place?"
Well, the billionaire made his fortune by founding a series of successful companies, including the #1 online Japanese fashion retailer, Zozo. So it's not hard to assume he's been focusing on his career, and love may have taken the sidelines, until now. But he does have a few requirements for the job...the "application conditions" require candidates to be " single woman aged 20 or over, have a bright personality, always be positive, be interested in going to space and able to prepare for the trip, want to live life to its fullest, and wish for world peace."
Although it may seem bizarre, Maezawa is already famous for such quirky and generous ideas. In 2019, he set a new Twitter retweet record by promising to give away $10,000 each to 100 Twitter users for following and retweeting him – with 5.48 million retweets. This past New Year’s, he also gave out $9 million to 1,000 people – explaining that it was part of a social experiment to see if the money would make people happier.
This contest, however, is a little closer to home.
“As feelings of loneliness and emptiness slowly begin to surge upon me, there’s one thing that I think about: Continuing to love one woman,” Maezawa said. “I want to find a ‘life partner.’ With that future partner of mine, I want to shout our love and world peace from outer space.”
This costly breakthrough trip to the Moon is tentatively scheduled for 2023. In the meantime, Maezawa’s quest for love will be made into a reality TV show, “Full Moon Lovers” – so keep your eyes out.
